Feed Your Neighbor FundUpdate as of November 3rd-We have had an overwhelming response to our fundraiser... Thank you! We are currently pausing new donations at this time. We will reach out again if we need your help! Our neighbors are facing a food crisis. As of November 1st, SNAP benefits (AKA food stamps or EBT) will be on pause due to the government shutdown. With your help, the Rhinebeck Farmers' Market can bring fresh, local produce to our hungry neighbors. Your donation will allow funds to be disbursed to our regular shoppers at our weekly market. We plan to offer a $25 weekly bonus during the government shutdown. These funds will be issued to neighbors in the form "RFM Plus tokens". Similar to what they are used to handling during their regular SNAP transactions with us. . All RFM Plus tokens issued reimburse the farmer 100% for the items purchased at their stand. This provides access to all food items in the market. Help your neighbors in these unprecedented times. Every dollar counts. Are you a SNAP shopper? Please stop by our booth on Sunday for more info or email us with any questions. We can still redeem benefits on your SNAP card carrying a balance and match the NYS Fresh Connect checks up to $50. We will match any of your benefits over $50 with our Plus program tokens from Feed Your Neighbor (you may receive more benefits this way than our stipend. Please chat with us to see what is best). If benefits are exhausted, we can offer our RFM Plus tokens stipend each week. Any SNAP tokens you still have can be redeemed with vendors. They do not expire. NYS Fresh Connect checks can be redeemed at markets until December 31st. NYS Farmers Market Nutrition Program Fruit and Vegetable checks can be redeemed at markets until November 30th. |
